OPENING: SATURDAY, 8.03.2025, 5:00 PM

We invite you to the opening of the exhibition Tide by the TiT Collective, which will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025 – International Women’s Day – at 17:00 in the Poleczki.art gallery. The exhibition will be on view until Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Tide

The exhibition Tide, presented this March at Poleczki.art, brings viewers closer to rarely addressed themes of menstruation and menopause. The TiT Collective approaches this essential part of womanhood with sensitivity, while not avoiding elements that still evoke embarrassment or remain taboo. The diversity of artistic forms and interpretations reflects the multiplicity of perspectives and experiences of the participating photographers, both Polish and Brazilian.

Tide is a collaborative project of the TiT women’s photography collective and invited Brazilian artists, presenting reflections on menstrual bleeding and its social consequences. The exhibition gathers visual impressions of a phenomenon that continues to be overlooked in public discourse, and yet concerns more than half of the global population, transcending borders, race, or social status.

The works are deeply rooted in personal experience. The artists draw inspiration from the forces of nature and its cycles, as well as from images of their own bodies and blood. They invite friends, daughters, and inspiring women into their practice. The resulting works include photographs, collages, reliefs, and canvas interventions, but their strongest message lies in the power of sisterhood.

Each of us experiences these matters differently, yet openness creates a community of thought and mutual support. Menstruation and menopause are rarely addressed in the art world, and this exhibition shows how they can serve as a profound connector – an integral part of women’s existence.

The opening will be accompanied by a special concert by Agnieszka Kiepuszewska (Instagram), who will perform for the first time her latest album inspired by Maya Angelou – a figure who confronted sexual violence and fought for women’s rights.
