We invite you to a unique meeting with a legend of Polish photography - Wojciech Prażmowski, professor, habilitated doctor in film art, and lecturer at PWSFTviT in Łódź, one of the most recognized Polish artists in creative photography.

The "First World Exhibition of Spoiled Photos" from 1989, presented at the Small Gallery of ZPAF in Warsaw, elevated the author to the rank of one of the most important contemporary photographers. In the 1980s and 90s, he dedicated himself to creating objects and installations, as well as colorful staged photography, only to surprise everyone at the turn of the century with a return to black-and-white documentation and narratives about the political transformation in our country.

His travel photos from Venice, Vigo, and Rhodes offer a perspective devoid of people and politics. However, his daily life in the countryside, right by the border with Belarus, where he moved a few years ago, presents a different picture.

His work, from photomontage to classic documentary photography, represents a fascinating journey through the years, inspired by the search for ideal forms and light. We are extremely excited about the opportunity for this conversation and warmly invite you to join us. See you there!

We invite you!

WOJCIECH PRAŻMOWSKI

Wojciech Prażmowski, born in 1949 in Częstochowa, is a prominent Polish artist and photographer. He is a professor and habilitated doctor in film art, representing the field of creative photography. He studied at the School of Fine Arts Photography in Brno, graduating in 1974. Currently, he is a lecturer at PWSFTviT in Łódź and ASP in Warsaw, as well as a member of the Association of Polish Artists Photographers.

His artistic career began in the 1970s, with a breakthrough exhibition titled "First World Exhibition of Spoiled Photos" in 1989 at the Small Gallery of ZPAF in Warsaw, where he presented an innovative approach to staging and the use of family and anonymous photography concepts by Jerzy Lewczyński. Since the late 1990s, Prażmowski has created photo-objects and has also engaged with documentary photography, exemplified by his book "Biało-czerwono-czarna" (1999), which narrates Poland in the 1990s.

He employs photomontage and interventions in positive images, seeking new meanings in his work, and since the beginning of the 21st century, he has experimented with the combination of color photography and the concept of documentary photography.

He has participated in over 350 photographic exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His works are held in collections including the Museum of Art in Łódź, CSW Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, the National Museum in Warsaw, MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York, and the Striped House Museum of Art in Tokyo, as well as in private collections.
