Poleczki.art Gallery is pleased to present the first Warsaw exhibition of the 52flickers collective. 52×3 brings together a selection of works that explore photography as a sustained and methodical visual practice.

In an age of visual saturation, photography often becomes little more than background noise. The 52flickers collective operates in opposition to this condition, approaching photography as a rigorous, long-term practice of attentiveness. Rejecting the notion that meaningful images emerge only from extraordinary events, the group reminds us that a good photograph does not always appear when we expect it. Sometimes it happens by chance, sometimes after many unsuccessful attempts, and most often only when we learn how to look closely.

Photographic vision develops through continuous practice, emerging only when the photographer remains in a constant state of readiness. Since 2022, members of the collective have committed themselves to a simple challenge: to photograph and publish regularly. Not when something remarkable happens, but regardless of circumstance—once a week, throughout the year. It is a process that reveals how images acquire meaning through attention and engagement.

52×3, the collective’s third exhibition, is a polyphonic record of this rhythm. Documentary photography, street photography, experimentation, portraiture, abstraction, and conceptual image-making coexist within the exhibition. What connects these works is neither subject matter nor aesthetic approach, but the attentiveness of their makers, who return week after week to the act of looking at the world anew.
