15TH OPEN-AIR PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL IN ŻORY

"What Pleases the Eye"

We invite you to the 15th Open-Air Photography Festival in Żory, taking place on September 12–13, 2025. This event, held at the Municipal Museum in Żory and the Kino na Starówce, is one of the most important photography festivals in Silesia, bringing together artists, curators, and photography enthusiasts. The festival program will feature solo and group exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, and curator-led tours.

 

Among the presented projects, you will also find works by photographers from Poleczki.art:

  • Aleksandra Kossowska will present her series World by Touch,

  • Ewa Laskowska will show her work as part of the group exhibition Haruhisa Camera Collective, which was previously hosted at our space in April this year.

Festival Highlights

 

September 12 (Friday)5:00 PM — Kino na Starówce, ŻoryOpening of the Haruhisa Camera Collective exhibition, presenting the work of thirty authors from around the world. The photographs were created using imperfect, classic lenses and traditional projection techniques onto a ground glass screen. The resulting effects – misty textures, soft contours, and subtle play of light – combine the aesthetics of the past with modern methods of digital processing.

6:00 PM — Municipal Museum in Żory

 

Opening of four solo exhibitions:

  • Aleksandra Kossowska – World by Touch

  • Aneta Nytko – Utopiec

  • Krzysztof Kowalczyk – Przyjdzie noc (Night Will Come)

  • Mariusz Mykicki – Mars

 

7:00 PM — Municipal Museum in Żory

Meeting with Prof. Janusz Musiał, author of a multi-volume anthology Photography in Silesia.

 

September 13 (Saturday)12:00 PM — Municipal Museum in Żory
